MILLPORT PRIDE RECOGNISED BY THE SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT

Millport Pride is delighted to acknowledge and thank Ross Greer MSP for bringing a motion before the Scottish Parliament on 24 August 2026, recognising and supporting the work of the Millport Pride Committee as we prepare for our first-ever Pride event on Saturday 12 September 2026 in Millport, on the beautiful Isle of Cumbrae.
The motion states:
“That the Parliament celebrates the inaugural Millport Pride event, which will be held on 12 September 2026; acknowledges the work of the Millport Pride Committee in bringing the event to fruition; further acknowledges the support of local businesses and the wider community on the Isle of Cumbrae, as well as supporters from further afield, including Arran Pride; recognises the efforts to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and challenge the discrimination that so many continue to experience, and welcomes what it sees as an inclusive, fun and family-friendly event that showcases the positive values and inclusive spirit of the Millport community and the beautiful Isle of Cumbrae.”
We are incredibly proud that the work of our committee, volunteers, local businesses, community and supporters has been recognised in Parliament.
This is more than just a Pride event — it is a celebration of community, inclusion, equality and belonging, and we can't wait to welcome everyone to Millport on Saturday 12 September.
A huge thank you to Ross Greer MSP for putting forward the motion, and to all MSPs who supported it:
